The time she worked at The Washington Post was spent covering several Olympics, Grand Slam Tennis along with basketball, football and other sports. Nichols was awarded two Emmy Awards during her nine-year stint with ESPN as well as being featured on the most watched shows such as NFL Countdown or SportsCenter, changed to ESPN following the year 2004.
